1988 Force 125HP tilt leaking down

I just got this boat and the tilt motor works but is leaking down. There are no outside signs of leakage but the motor goes down in about one or two minutes. Can anyone suggest where to start ?? Thanks

The trim/ tilt leaks in 3 places.
The pump is usually the culprit.
The trim section(part with the little plunger) can leak but I haven't seen one go bad.
The tilt ram can be the last place.

In the manual there are procedures for testing the system.
You'll need to buy a couple of fittings but it's a pretty easy test.

Question no. 2: I should have asked this originally but forgot. Is there supposed to be a warmup position on the throttle control?? I can't find one.

Update: I followed all suggestions and wound up rebuilding both rams, the shock and valve body on the pump. GREAT SUCCESS !!!
