1988 force 50 frustrations!!! please help!

ok I have a 1988 force 50 hp, I was not getting any spark to the bottom cylinder, thinking the coil may be shot I first swapped out with the good one and it would crank and backfire so I changed out the coil, plug and wire now with the new coil im getting backfire as i did when i switched it out so I think the coil was bad, however I still cant seem to get that bottom cylinder to fire, compression is 120 in both cylinders so thats ok. Any suggestions?????????

You may have a bad cd module or possible bad trigger I am fighting with the same issue

how did you make out with your motor, did you resolve the issue? Was just wondering what it was if you did get it fixed.

I have the same thing wrong with my 50 hp .I changed the top coil to btm and re wired for btm plug , it backfired like yours ,then i realized i didnt move the 1&3 and 3&4 coated wires had to be moved if you didnt move, the timeing is off and you get backfire.after that i replaced the trigger and bought a new coil with pack ,cost was about 320.00 its all back to working now
