Motor runs excellent carb and fuel pump rebuilt, carb adjusted to 1 1/4 turn out. Compression about 100 each cylinder(a bit low). My problem is it seems to not run at an acceptable speed,15-18 mph, 10hp's seem to be faster than mine. New prop size 10 3/8 x 11 1/2. mixing reg unld. gas 2.6 oz. per gal. Plugs are slighty wet but not black. Do I need a different prop? Do you think it is the compression? Carb completely horizontal at wot. I've already decarbed. Any Ideas would be most appreciated.
Model 507Y8D, 16 ft aluminum

Compression is ok.
Check to be sure it is running on both cylinders.
If plugs are wet and no black it could be a spark problem or possibly a head gasket.Sometimes a weak head gasket will let in just enough water that it cleans a plug and makes it lose power. But more likely you have one cylinder that is not firing.(spark)

I agree with steelespike. I had the exact same problem with my 88 force 50. Turned out to be a broken wire at the terminal strip. When I fixed it the damn thing had so much acceleration it damn near threw me out on throttle up. I suggest checking to be sure all wires are connected and none are broken.
