I got a 1988 force outboard 85hp on a 16'8 maxum bowrider. has the earlier triple carb set up 856a9f? its the one with the spring above the float bowl retainer screw. im missing the air filter for it. wondering if anyone knows a part number or where i can find a used one cause so far my search turned up nada. also theres a rubber hose thats comming from the other side of the reed plate adapter from the engine side, its just laying in the bottom under the carbs attached to nothing. im guessing it goes on the air filter cause theres nothing or anywhere on the carbs it can go. any ideas? i can post pics of it if it would help. thanks

not sure on the hose but outboards DO NOThave air filters on them, not enough dust in the water for them.

thanks, that def looks like itll work.ima logon ebay order it. i think the hose just laying on the ground is creating a vaccum leak.

It's not creating a vacuum leak wave. The purpose of that hose is to suck up the puddled fuel in the air housing from when you tilt the engine. It always sucks. Since you have no housing the fuel is most likely dripping into your cowl..if any that is.
