Good evening all! I have just recently purchased an old fishing boat with a Force Outboard and have been trying to do some routine maintenance. I found that the heat sensor was in rough shape so I purchased a new one. The sensor has one purple wire and one brown wire coming from it and under the dash I have an accessory lead from the outboard with one RED one BLACK one PURPLE and one ORANGE wire. I can't figure out which wires to connect with what. Could someone please help me out. I do know that the purple is designated for the tachometer and the orange for the heat sensor. I assume the red is positive and black negative.

spider, the overheat alarm horn works like this....key on provides 12v power to alarm horn [purple wire]...horn grounds through the orange wire/temp sensor on the cylinder head...when you have it hooked up correctly , with the key turned on, you should be able to ground the temp sensor and hear the alarm go off...
