I am posting this as a continuance from a posting about a month ago. My motor died while offshore. I got ahold of a DVA and did all kinds of diagnostics. Bottom line I replaced the stator and the power pack as well as the flywheel. Today, Twice the motor would try to start but die. My DVA voltage on the Orange/Orange Black was 50 volts. But when it tried to start I saw it hit 150 on the DVA. I disconnected the power pack Orange/Orange Black from the Stator Orange/Orange Black at the bridge. The motor started right up. Ran beautiful and was showing a charge on the battery up to 13.9 rather quick. Shut key off. Turn the key and motor fired right up. Any idea bottom line what the deal is? This has gotten silly but I am seeking inquiring minds!! My brain is fried.

I worked on this motor all day yesterday and got it running per the above posting. When I got home today I checked again for spark and the motor quickly tried to start. I then disconnected the emergency stop at the shift station (shifter) and checked for spark. I had no spark. We hooked up the emergency stop again and I bridged the Orange/Orange Black Stator with the Orange/Orange Black wires off the Power pack at the bridge again. The motor started right up!! I tested this motor a few times tonight and the motor started right up. I may have a problem with the emergency stop switch but botom line, if this happens to another fisherman, disconnect these Orange wires from the power pack at the bridge and see if it starts. It may save a costly tow. Closing the thread!
