1988 Johnson 88 hsp

I have looked in repair manuals and spark plug manuals and I do not see a listing for an 88 hsp Johnson. Should I use the 90 hsp model for a reference? Also I took the boat on the water the first time and after about 5 minutes a buzzer went off under the dash. I turned off the engine, waited a few minutes then turned it back on and the buzzer had stopped. Does anyone know what caused the buzzer to signal?<br /><br />Tucker

It could have been your over temp sensor. check gto see that there is water coming out the peehole.

Tucker,<br /><br />The 88SPL is the same as a 90 for all practical purposes. The 90 had oil injection, the 88 did not. Your buzzer is for overheat. Check waterflow as Chewy mentioned.
