So, we finally got out on our boat after a month and a half period of repair. Just in case someone is looking to buy one, I'm gonna do a "review". And I have questions. We got 100 feet from the dock today and noticed the recently repaired port engine was at 205 degrees! That's 45 more than normal. What do you guys think? We think the raw water intake is clogged since it sat for a while. The belts are fine. We turned it on a little later to try it and it smelled like someone set a tire on fire on the deck in less than a minute. Impeller maybe? Anyway we got out and it was relatively rough (tight 3 footers). This boat has a few traits. It's very tippy compared to most boats I've been on. We anchored up after the OTHER engine died twice which was pretty scary. Almost positive it sucked some air in. But while anchored it was just nonstop tipping back and forth. We have a flybridge which makes us possibly one of a kind. That could be it. The boat is very dry when going straight into a head sea, but pretty wet on a 45 deg angle. After 4 hours of fishing, it got too rough with 16 mph winds, we decided to head in. (We hooked up with what I thought to be a thresher shark halfway through and it bit straight through a wire leader after 10 minutes during this trip.) As we were heading in it was a complete following sea. We ran the 1 engine in and it was the smoothest boat ride I ever had. It tried to throw me off course a few times, but honestly she handled much better than expected. We got in the inlet and I decided to try and push the rpms. Never did it before because I smelled stuff at around 2000 rpms. I guess that was the port engine. The weird ting is that I heard the 4 barrels kick in at 2300. That' obviously a huge waste of fuel. I ran 2500 rpms at 9.5 knots all the way in and was pretty happy with that. Manual says I should be getting 4500 rpms. I don't think I could get past 3000 with the throttle physically. I'm dying to see what speed the engines can give me. The props are wrong and messy, so that could be the problem.
