Hi folks. I'm the new guy on the block, so be gentle haha.

I recently bought a boat advertised as having a 1988 Mariner 100hp OB. But now I'm confused. After looking into needing a few things for it, I think it's something else.

First off, it's a 3 cylinder. Everything I've researched shows the 100hp as a 4 cylinder.
The number is OB372487

I really am at a loss now because I can't figure out what I have.

My starter drive gear is chewed up, so I took the starter off and the starter is part number 50-66015-1

I got the drive gear off and want to replace it. Can I order the gear only or do I have to replace the whole starter?

Also, I'm afraid my flywheel teeth are damaged. I don't have anything to reference off of though.

I have pictures and can take as many as needed if there's anybody willing to help.
Thank you guys a ton in advance.

Re: 1988 Mariner.... What HP?

The reason you are having a hard time finding the correct information is because you're serial number (OB372487) shows this engine to be a 1988 MARINER 90 hp ELPTO, Model Number 7090412ND (3 CYLINDER);):)

Here's your parts for this serial number.

Hope this helps for a starting point, good luck.:)
