Can anyone tell me what the operating rpm range is for this beast? Also, whats the optimal/exceptable rpm setting is for cruising. Had an odd thing happen. I've had this deck boat 4 bout 3 months and it's lost about 8mph. WOT was always 5100, I'm pretty sure my ull has growth and @#@ but I hit a hidden stump and munged up a blade. So when I had it repaired I also had him repitch it from 13 to 11 to help get up on plain. The odd thing is, WOT is still only a max of 5100. I lost 4mph also, but expected that. Any clue why my WOT rpm didn't increase?

Dirty carbs, spark advance sticking, bad compression, dirty hull, damaged hull, added hull weight (accesories, water in the hull) and many other things or a lousie rebuild on the prop I lost 6 mph on my 15" Marlin and 115 Merc once put a new prop on and the MPH came right back went to the prop guy and he said he didn't guarantty speed, don't use him any more needless to say

Personal experience with prop repair shops is that they.......suck.

Want more, ask.

Your prop was probably alum, and as such it would absorb a lot of damage that might otherwise be transferred to your engine.

Get another reliable prop to suit what you think your needs are and get back on here and tell us about it.
