1988 Mercury 100 missing

Freind has the above motor, and he tells me it's missing. What is the best course of action ?

Roy,<br /><br />Check the places the engine was last seen, then inform police and insurance company of when engine went missing.<br /><br />Chris.........

I'd look on the back of the boat, people always forget to look there first.

Missing all the time?<br />Does one cylinder completely stop firing? or is it intermitant? <br />Happen more after the engine is warmed up?<br /><br />YOu will have to check for spark on all cylinders to try to determine if you are having an ignition problem, or possible fuel/carb problem.
