The last 2 characters indicate model year.
That picture is of the old electric shift drive which will be incompatible with what is in your seaswirl. From the post on your other thread, it looks like you have an 82 engine which seems odd to me. I have heard of the engines being off by 2 years but not 4.
I would suggest not putting the electric shift drive in your boat.
One more piece of advice. In the long run, you would be way better off selling these two boats and finding one that runs already. 4 years ago, I sold a 87 Bayliner with a 5.0L OMC Cobra that worked perfectly for $2500 to my neigbor. That boat would end up costing you less than what you are going to put into this one. On the other hand, if you are doing this as a hobby, that is another story.
