I am looking to purchase a '88 Sunbird Corsair 17' bowrider. I am concerned about the construction of the boat. Does it have any wood in the transom or floor? The seating wood is rotten; the rear seat perches are rotted as well. The rubber strip on the outter seam looks to be separated a little bit on the back right corner. I can stick my fingers into the hull at the seam. Only a .5" gap about 6" long. It also has a 4.3L over 200hp, which I think is a little overpowered for the boat. Other than these issues the boat seems to be in great condition and has been stored indoors. Does anybody know about the materials used in this boat?

my '97 sunbird 200cc has some wood construction. you can usually tell by looking into the bilge through access panels. i think you will find wood for sure, and based on your description, you may find more rot. good luck-
