1988 sylvan pontoon boat what it worth

A friend of mine is looking at the boat mentioned above and was wondering what its worth. Its 24 ft long and powered by a 3.0 mercruiser i/o. Nice boat overall typical wear for age. Comes with 1992 trailer. Any help would be appreciated

I would not buy a 16 year old toon with an I/O, because of the problems that you may have with a unit that old. As for an 88 toon and a decent outboard motor or the I/O your're looking at, I would be looking at no more than $4000.00, without trailer. $5000.00 with the trailer. I would stay away from The I/O. Outboards are much cheaper to replace than an I/O and are easier to work on. Plus, you can extend your boating season with the outboard. Just my opinion and 20 years experience using pontoons.
