I removed the lower unit to do an impeller and shift rod boot repair. I obviously did not get it right after reinstalling the lower unit. When running in neutral I can hear the gears grinding a bit. If I push the shift lever forward towards the engine(reverse )the sound goes away. I can see that the shift rod needs to go down a bit and that puts the engine in full neutral. Does the shift rod from the lower unit adjust up and down. It does on my Evinrude but I am unfamiliar with where this adjustment is on this motor.
