1989 115hp suzuki outboard

I was wondering if anyone had a problem with their motor causing the over rev caution system to activate.Motor was fine till the warning buzzer came on & the motor would only run a at low rpms.Warning light for temp came on but the water stream comming out of the motor looked strong.

You'll get more detailed help in the Suzuki section. my first thought is it may be overheating. The telltale only indicates it is pumping water. could be weak or the thermostat may be bad.If it has oil injection it may not be working.Don't run it till you figure what is going on.Some trash may have plugged the water intake.
