I'm not bald but I'm going to be after I'm done pulling my hair apart over this motor. I have tried everything in the manual but the tests done dont match up (ie i have another force same model, w/ a blown powerhead but it has spark) Like when I tried to do the stator test (not ohms that tested ok) where you disconnect the 2 leads on the starboard power block and your supposed to turn your meter to 400 DVA?? Well I put it on DC voltage because they want you to check to see if it comes out with more or less than 210 volts DC? Am I incorrect though what does DVA really stand for? Either way both stators didn't show any voltage at all even though the blown head has spark. I'm at my wits end i've bypassed the kill switch, tested the key switch, eliminated the key switch all together. The rectifier is good, theres no tach hooked up so i know its not that.

Any ideas on how to make these engines work would be appreciated.

If you have no spark on any cylinder, that would mean that either BOTH CD boxes are bad, or both windings on the stator are bad, all four coils are bad or all four triggers are bad. In any above cases, that is just too much coincidence.

So: since you have bypassed the kill switch and it didn't help, now go on the engine terminal block at the starter motor.

About the third wire down will be two white wires, one from each CD box. Disconnect them and insulate them. If you now have spark, then the problem is within the cable to the ignition switch, the switch itself, or the kill switch. Be certain that the wires are connected properly, from top down: Yellow, Purple, White, Green, Orange, Red, Blue, Black.

Also be certain that the black ground wire from the CD mounting plate to the bypass cover bolt is present and not broken. Double check that the CD boxes are grounded to the mounting plate and all four coils are also.

Personally, I like to daisy chain a separate ground from the CD boxes and coils back around to the ground terminal near the starter motor. You can NEVER have enough grounding! Redundant grounds will prevent a lot of electrical problems.

If that doesn't help, look under the flywheel to see if the magnet is still glued inside the rim. Disconnect any pair of trigger leads and with a friend cranking the engine, check for a small signal voltage. If there is no voltage, then the trigger magnet in the center of the flywheel is bad. Replace the flywheel with the one off your other Force

Try these and let us know if you had any luck.

By the way: You have checked ALL the wiring to be certain that they are all connected to the proper terminals, did you not?

well just swap all the electronics from the blown power head, and save your hair, oh and that dva test is really simplified by just holding on to the plug wire and if it kicks you have passed, by chance have you swaped the flywheel, i used a flywhell once from even tho it was the same year and part# that part that presses on to the fly wheel had to be used with a diffrent trigger
