My question is how do i get the trim cylinder off to put this part on?
I tried to took the nuts off the (Upper Shock Shaft Part 21 on this link)

Can the shock shaft be driven out?
Any help would be great.
I can add pics if needed

Re: 1989 125 force trim and tilt

the shock shaft should just push out but with galvanic corrosion it can be stuck. When stuck you will see a white residue that almost looks like limestone deposits. That is ALOX. If you see that make sure to check/service your anode as soon as possible. A badly stuck upper shaft sometimes has to be drilled out, the rubber bushing that is. turn the rubber bushing into swiss cheese and then you can pry the aluminum liner bushing out. for replacement use a standard 3/4"IS x 1" x 1" nylon bushing (available from grainger) with a 9/16"id x 3/4 x 1" self lubricating bronze bushing.
Once the upper shaft is removed then you can install a new band collar by dropping it down from top.
