I had the boat out a couple of weekends ago. Was running fine for about the first 30 minutes and then started stalling. I could restart and rev it up to about 3000 RPMs in neutral, but as soon as I put it in gear the engine would die. I had a spare fuel/water separator filter on the boat and installed it. Didn’t make any difference. Appeared to give me every indication of fuel starvation. I got towed back to my dock. Went back out a couple of hours later and the engine started right up and seemed to run normally in gear. I only ran it for about 10 minutes. It has the original fuel pump and I suspect that it is going bad. It looks like I can no longer get the mechanical fuel pump. But I see on eBay several options for a electric fuel pump. Has anyone done this conversion? Is it a good option to go with? Any and all help appreciated!
