I just picked up a 1989 20 hp. that has been sitting around for many years. How many? I do not know. But it was free so I took it to play and learn on. The first thing I did after getting it on the stand was pull and clean the fuel filter and pull and clean the carb. The carb needs a rebuild kit but It started right up. I only ran it for a few seconds knowing that the impeller needs to be changed after sitting so long. The next thing I did was check compression. Both cylinders are at 90 lbs. pressure. Is this pressure low and not worth the time and money? Or is it just low because the engine sat for so long without lubrication and the pressure will increase after running and warming up?I would hate to think that I brought someone else's trash home but I could not help myself. Any thoughts on this one?
