1989 200 Evinrude VRO missing at low/hi rpm - Fixed 06-01-05

This problem is intermittent. The engine will run fine for an hour at all speeds and then this problem starts. --- [Running on 4-5 of the 6 cylinders at idle and missing above 4k rpm] ---Mechanic has removed and cleaned all carbs(ran great for two days after), checked for water, replaced plugs and wires.<br /><br />Thanks, <br />Jim

It sounds like an ignition issue. Has the power pack been check while the problem is occurring?<br /><br />If it isn't spark... Those engines are notorious for "sucking" the reed cage gasket. Does the engine "sneeze" at idle?

Thanks, I don't know if the power pack has been checked... can't get the mechanic to call me back so I'm trying to tackel it myself. Strange thing is it ran fine for two days after he cleaned the carbs and then one day after he stoped by a second time(don't know what he did then). I'll start with the powerpack. - Jim

Replaced the Powerpack... that fixed the problem.
