Hello, hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving.
Question.... 1989 200 Johnson has a slight miss, sounds like 1 cylinder not firing, only does it when starting out for a few seconds, not all of the time but most of the time. Or when you go back to an idle in gear or trolling will sometimes do it again. Will turn 5500 wot when not missing, doesn't offer to miss once cleared out. If kept at 1500 up. new plugs and decarbed about a month ago and didn't do it as much but now its seems to take a little longer to clear up and doing it more often
Thanks in advance for any info.
Tight lines....

hope you decarbed with the old plugs in not the new ones , if you did it with the new ones you might want to decarb again ,then throw some new plugs in after a couple blasts around the lake

Just had the spark checked, port side 5 to 7 thousand kilovolts, starboard side two lower cylinders are taking 15000 kilovolts to fire, the guy who checked said those two cylinders are not gettin as much fuel a little lean ? figured i would ask you yall before i do anything else, oh yeah compression all cylinders 100-105.
Thanks for any info Billy

1974 23 MAKO

Volts to fire means zip to me...it might to someone else, but it doesn't matter if there's fuel there or not, the plug (If good) should fire.
You are indicating high resistance....could be plugs could be wires, coils, stator, etc.
Sounds more like a weak coil or shorted/broken plug wire. Thinking out-loud here, a coil (Bad) usually shows it's face after reaching max temp....not sure maybe I wouldn't be taking a look at plug wires.
Also, if you have 2 cyls you believe may be lean, I'd O/H all carbs before it has a chance to leave you in the middle of nowhere.

Update-found loose magnets and weak sensor, will cont check when glue cures & sensor installed. Hopefully powerpack is ok.
