Hi,
A friend of mine is selling a 1989 218 Cuddy for $4000. Has spent most of its life covered on the trailer and I seriously doubt it has ever seen saltwater use. I am totally ignorant of the Sunbird brand, and I am used to much smaller boats and V4 OMC outboards. I don't know much about this particular boat, except that by a crude description it sounds like an inboard. I am going to look at it on Sunday.
1) What should I be on the lookout for?
2) What range of top speeds should I expect, based on whatever motor it turns out to have, prop setup, etc?
3) Can you ski with this boat?
4) What do you think the fully-loaded trailered weight would be? I have a 2006 Nissan Xterra 6sp manual with tow capacity of 5000/500.
5) What do you think of the price? It is a little high by NADA, but a little rudimentary research reveals that asking prices are generally higher.
