Hello,
Can a 1989 25 HP Johnson Outboard tiller be converted to remote control and steering? If so, where can I locate information on how to perform the operation?
Thanks
Ben

yes you need the cable connections and controll. the steering you need to decide what type you are going to use. what is it going on? picture would help, does the boat have any existing hardware? is the motor electric or rope start., picture of the transom area would help so we can tell you the proper hardware you need.

The motor is a short shaft, rope start, tiller. My boat, a 1958 Duratech 14ft runabout, has cable over puley steering, and currently has a 15HP Merc short shaft with a rope start. I'm not too concerned with rigging up the steering by fabrication any bracket etc. that may be needed, but I'm concerned about the availability of the remote control and how dificult it may be to make the conversion.
