1989 3.0 OMC impeller housing

I had issues with over heating on my 1989 Cadarette 3.0 OMC, took some great advice from you guys and started to check things out, as this is my first boat, The impeller was shot, burnt and actually burnt thru the housing, is this an odd part to purchace and is it a hard to find item, I am in Canada and am about to go to my local marine to find out when I order the impeller kit, any advice or options would be appreciated.

found the housing online for a US website, so it shouldnt be hard to get over hear, anything else I should look at in my cooling system(raw water system) just to check things out

How much of the impeller (pieces) were missing? those pieces can lodge in critical areas restricting flow, areas like thermostat housing are pretty easy to clean out not sure of where a guy would begin in flushing the system someone that's been there may chime in though.

thanks a70eliminator, i plan on changing the stat as well and adjust the carb a little, idles rough, maybe carb cleaner spray as well, boating is new to me, motors are not but stern drives are, any help is much appreciated
