I am in the process of repowering my '89 SeaRay with a new 3.0L after throwing a rod in theh 89 3.0L.

The bolt patterns of the manifold are the same and it bolts up nicely. However the new gasket and head ports are smaller than the ports on the '89 manifold.

The gasket bolt positions are fine, however the the new gasket covers up a 1/2 inch of some ports on the old manifold.

Do I need a different gasket, adapter, or a differnt manifold? I know the ovbious answer is get a new manifiold, but is there any other alternative.

Thanks

The new gasket matches the new head, but the gasket overlaps the old manifold. I guess I was concerned about exhaust/air/fuel being slowed by the overlap and potiential hazards and power loss.

If it Matches the Head,........

How could it be Blocking Anything,..??.......

It's the Head's Ports that are the Restriction.........
