1989 70hp etlf yamaha repairable or paperwieght

hello not new to iboats but new to posting here goes. have a 1989 70 hp etlf yamaha fouling plugs rebuilt carbs with no improvement rebuilt fuel pump but noticed im missing the spring diaphram and seat according to iboats parts diagram for this engine.could someone have been into diaphram before me or are these parts not valid for this pump.also would this have something to do with plugs fouling.could timing also have something to do with fouling.set float level to 16mm.compression 95lbs all three cylinders.boat seem to run fine at wot last four times out but continues to foul plugs.towards the end of outing very bad fouling had to paddle onto trailer last time out.ps shop rate is 120 an hr up here ouch.dumped fuel and started fresh today went with hotter plugs br7hs still no diffrence oh yeah also ordered spring and seat and installed.has motor had it because of low compression seems to run okay at higher speed.would realy appreciate replys have only recieved one. thanks in advance.

are you using the 2.6 ounces of oil per gallon of fresh and clean gasoline? old gas will foul plugs. too much oil will foul plugs. are your plugs the correct heat range and specified number for your motor? the wrong plugs(different heat range) can cause fouling. put some Yamaha Ringfree in your gas/oil mixture...about an ounce per 10 gallons...might help with fouling. those are a few things that can cause fouling. good luck!

What did you do with your 70 ETLF? I could use the tilt and trim parts, or the whole thing, if you still have it and want to get rid of it.
