This motor has good spark and fuel delivery. We just decarbed it today following the FAQ. My question is how do you properly adjust the fuel/air mixture on the carb.....both for idle and WOT? Im not a 2 cycle engine guy....I only know car engines but the diagram I found on http://www.boats.net/parts/search/Merc2/Force/85%20H.P.%20%281989%29/856A9F/CARBURETOR/parts.html shows part 23 as idle needle....thought that would be the fuel/air screw. Im just confused on how to adjust these carbs....any advice is welcome.

Turn the screw in till it just bottoms. Then turn it out 1 full turn then leave it.
No high speed.Just make sure the carbs are clean and the #4and6 are straight when under full throttle.J

yes item 23 is idle mixture adjustment screw. If you looking for idle speed adjustment screw its on the towershaft (linkage connecting to carb throttle) not on the carbs. Look for a screw with a jam nut on it.
