How hard is it to replace spring for pull chord retraction in this motor? Motor runs fine and will start but the pull chord does not retract back into motor. Is this a hard or easy fix?

Not hard. With simple hand tools it can be done in 15min.
Look on U-tube for videos.

would an old chrysler 5hp have the same spring? The boat comes with a 5hp chrysler parts motor but I looked and it seemed to be a slightly different apparatus. I'm wondering how much the spring costs. I could not find any youtube videos on doing this procedure
