Hello, I have a 1989 Larson DC170 with Mercruiser 3.0l alpha one (MR I believe). The power trim/tilt is giving me some problems and is raising very slowly. I have a searched a ton but cannot figure it out. The trim fluid is topped off, and does not overflow or leak (that I can see), but the fluid is milky in color (like coffee and cream). What is the best way to drain this? I disconnected the 4 lines from the rams and ran the motor a few times to spray all the fluid out of the four lines, but now there seems to be air in the lines. It will raise about halfway very nicely, then stop, yet the motor still runs (but in a higher pitched noise like it is free wheeling). Should I just use a pump to get the bad fluid out of the resevoir, then refill and cap it up and try to cycle it again? Should I run it with the resevoir empty? Keep the lines connected or disconnected? I have no clue. Thanks in advance everyone, these threads have helped me out a ton.
