Man it has been a LONG time since I have been here. Looking forward to connecting with everyone again!

Last year we sold our starcraft mariner and have been searching for something a little bigger with a cabin. We needed something that was better suited for long days on the water and the occasional over night trips.

Last night I found it (I hope). I was given a free 1989 bayliner 2455. The hull is in good condition. The deck seems to be very solid, no signs of rot anywhere. The transom all shows no signs of rot. This boat has spent a lot of time under cover, and that is a good thing. It has the 5.7L OMC motor. The guy I got it from bought it for the trailer and the cobra out-drive. I plan on doing the SEI conversion anyway, so no out-drive is just fine with me.

He is delivering it on Sunday, where we will put it on blocks until I can get a trailer lined up for it. Then the work to get it on the water will begin!. We are not planning on having it out this year, take our time with it and get it on the water next summer.

I will keep this thread updated with photos and progress as we go along!

I will post more photos this evening. But for now this is what I got minus the trailer!

Welcome back. I will have to tag along. I want to see how one of these conversions go.
