Afternoon,
Trying to replace some interior in my old Bayliner and trying to figure out how to remove the side cusions in the open bow area to replace the vinyl. Is there a trick to getting these off and replacing?
Thanks & Gob Bless America!

TF,

I've got an 84 Bayliner. There are crosspoint stainless screws hidden in the seams of the cushions. Its hunt and peck to find them. Be patient and use a screwdriver with a very good tip so you don't strip the heads.

Good Luck!

Well got the rear side panels off and covered. It was easy to remove, just had to watch and hunt for the screws hid in the tucked folds.
Lucked out and the wood was perfect with no rot! Cleaned it all up and installed new foam and vinyl.
The interesting part was removing the front side cushion rails. The begining there is a hidden screw that (and how they did it is beyond me) was put in from under the rail instead from the front. I have no idea how they got a screw driver/tool in the 2" space to install this thing. I basically cut the vinyl open and pulled out the foam. Then backed the screw with a vise grips as far in as I could get it and then pulled the rail away from the boat and put a super short phillips driver and slowly worked it out.
Going to recover those tomorrow and add an extra tuck on each end to allow for a screw so I don't have to screw that back in from the inside.
Got my new windshield molded and installed as well. I gave up finding one and everyone wanted a fortune for a custom made one. Another couple days it'll be ready!

Isn't it strange that the more "exposed" plywood is, the better it withstands rot, but the glass covered stuff rots out with one drop of water.
