1989 Bayliner Capri yearly maintenance?

So I inherited a 1989 18ft Bayliner Capri from my dad. The boat hasn't been started since last March when he registered it and he passed away shortly after.

What kind of maintenance should I do and what should I do to get it going? I'm pretty mechanically inclined, I'm just not familiar with boats or their routine maintenance.

Also, it has no battery, does anyone know what kind goes in it? Thanks.

Sorry about the way you obtained the boat, though.

What type of motor does it have- outboard or inboard? The answer will affect both what you have to do to get it up and running as well as routine maintenance. If the gas wasn't properly stabilized, you will probably have to dispose of it and clean the entire fuel system.

You will probably find that there is only room for a Group 24 battery in the standard location. What electrical devices will you be using?
