My mom gave me her old boat. I have been out on it a couple times years ago. My husband and his dad have a boating trip planned in June. The boat is at the marina right now getting summerized and having a good going over. My mom had not run the boat for over three years.

We plan on using it mainly for fishing and camping. Mom had a tent enclosure made for it.

The boat will be kept out of the water, unless we are using it of course.

We do plan to use it some in the ocean but will be putting in in fresh water, going through salt water and then back through the fresh water to get it back to the trailer.

Any advice for a newbie regarding boating would be great. Especially regarding where to go in Maine.

Thanks so much,
Lisa

Re: 1989 Chris Craft Limited CD 225

Hi Lisa,

Two years ago we visited a cousin that lives in Orland, Me. and took a side trip to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Although it was raining we had a great time and enjoyed the Park and Bar Harbor. We saw a number of smaller boats in the Harbor that were moored there. I assume the park must have trailer/boat ramps for use. If my boat could be trailered I would cruise and camp the area - exploring the various inlets weather permitting.

Enjoy the summer.

I grew up in Ellsworth Maine (Hancock County). Bar Harbor is a great destination, especially for 4th of July. Sit in your boat at night when the town does fireworks off the town docks. Also check out Frenchmen's Bay and Blue Hill Bay.
