My 1989 85 HP Force engine will crank but will not start. I can hardly get any fire. The second cylinder will only give a very quick fire and then it goes out. The first and third cylinders will not fire at all. The boat repairman (well established company with 25 years in the business) checked the brand new stator assembly and it checked out OK, he checked the brand new trigger assembly and it checked out OK, he checked the powerpacks and they checked out OK, also the coils-checked out OK. He checked the wiring and replaced two broken wires but still no fire from the first and third cylinders. I observed him switching things around to try to get some fire from the first and third cylinders but still no fire. He was scratching he head after going through these steps. He said that he will find the problem and it is most likely a small problem but to find it may be time consuming. Has anyone out there experienced the same problem and, if so, how was it corrected? This engine started right up in April but, in May, it would only crank. And I mean started right up because as soon as I turned the key, it would start. All cylinders are getting plenty of gasoline. This is the third mechanic to try to correct this problem. Also, why would I be getting a quick fire from the second cylinder but no fire from the first and third cylinders? If anyone has been through the same problem, please let me know.

Any Help Will Be GREATLY Appreciated,

HLamont
