Here is some background.
All the following are 6 months old: fuel tank, primer hose/bulb, tune up, rebuilt carbs.
Engine ran great. Started to act up. Engine will idle and run to 2500rpm's. After that the engine does not increase. More detail: Pushing the throttle to the first detent felt, the engine is fine, after the first felt detent towards full throttle I can hear the carbs open up but no increase in RPM.
In the last few weeks I have installed new (factory) inlet needles. At that time I found the carbs to still be very clean. No change. I next installed a revised fuel pump kit and got to test it today, NO CHANGE!
Today during my failed test I tried something. With my son at the wheel I sat in the back with the prime bulb in my hand. I had him increase the throttle to 100% as I squeezed the prime bulb. The bulb stays full of fuel and tight. But I squeezed it anyway (kinda hard) and the engine wanted to take off! It would increase 1500 - 2000 more rpms but then die back down. I would pump squeeze it and it wanted to take off but couldnt quite do it.
Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!! Im at my wits end here.
ALSO*** all though my engine has a pump on the block, there are whats called 'integrated fuel pumps' on the side of each carb. How do those work? Why do I need them and could they be an issue?
