1989 EVI 60 hp top cyl starts but stalls...another ?

Probably a newbie dumb ? but I posted earlier with this prob that bottom & middle cyls run fine...top not...starts but stalls out in a few secs. I'm testing this without the intake manifold & air silencer on the unit...could that make any difference in whether this top cyl won't keep running? Does it make any difference for any OB? Thnx for info.

I look around at the other threads and didn't see a couple of things.
What is the compression readings for all 3 cylinders?
Does the spark test out with a spark tester? You should get an easy 1/2" with that ignition.
What do the plugs look like? Make sure that one doesn't look steam cleaned. Did you swap them around and see if that made a difference?
Once you've ruled out compression, spark, the spark plug, and an exhaust cover water leak then that pretty well narrows it down to still having a clogged up carb.
