I curently have a 1989 120 hp evinrude on a cadorette skimaster. The person I purchased it from worked as a QA inspector at OMC. He told me that for peak performance I could run it at 6,500 rpm. I believe the recomended range is 5,500 to 6,000. But I have been for the last 8 seasons, and it has never and I mean never given me a problem. Am I OK in continuing to run at 6,500 or am I just pushing my luck
