Motor is a 1989 175 crossflow
Motor idles just fine in quickstart, but once it gets up to temp its dies once the power pack pulls the timing (consistently dies right after the 5 seconds of automatic timing advance).
I can "catch" the motor if I advance the throttle (no opening of the carb butterflys - I just leave a lot of slack in the cam so it doesnt depress the butterfly roller) to advance the timing, but it seems like I have to advance it (specifically, the timer base lever) quite a bit past where stable idle is with quickstart on in order to keep her going.
If it set the idle timing to where it should be off of quickstart (normal temp), then when quickstart is active it idles at around 1600 and it seems the timing is too far advanced.
Any ideas or suggestions on where to begin? PS. I have a manual and am going to try to re-link and sync tonight.
