Hi, I just got the thermostat kit for the motor. I am attempting to put it back together.
I have 2 round cork gaskets that were not found when taking the assembly apart.
The thermostats in the existing housing were held into the side with the indent with silicone I assume(most of it was missing).
In the instructions it has:
Housing : Flat Gasket : Plastic Spacer : Thermostats : Cork Gaskets : Flat Gasket. (marineengine.com)
or
Housing : Flat Gasket : Plastic Spacer : Cork Gasket : Thermostats : Flat Gasket. (SELOC)
depends on the source
What I am getting is the cork is way sits too proud to accomplish this on either side of the thermostat and have the final flat gasket work.
Stuck on what to do any help would be appreciated.
