My motor runs great for a period of time and then when cruising down the lake it just shuts down just like you turned the key off at wot or higher rpms. I then seem to be able to run at lower rpms say 4000 for quite a while then just continue along like normal. No real time frame on what happens, sometimes not even on every trip. I probably will take it to the shop but does anyone have any ideas to try before that. Like I said it is just like you turn off the key. Motor starts back up and you can run. I think it must be electrical because there is no stutter or bog it just quits. Thanks for any replies or options.

I am assuming it is electrical , but it must be something that just happens and then quits because the motor will start again. I hope someone has some info on what to test or where to start. Thanks

It may be running out of fuel. Possible weak fuel pump. If you constantly prime the fuel hose bulb and the engine keeps running, I'd look at the pump.
