1989 Force 125 Outboard A,B,C,D Code

Can anyone tell me what the difference is in the A,B,C,D code used for the 1989 Force 125 outboards? Does it pretain to the months of production of a certain year such as A/ Jan, Feb, Mar- B/ Apr, May, Jun and so on. mine is 1251A9C.

The mid year designation coincides with part(s) changes.

For instance, the carbs may be from a different manufacturer for model "a" motors, and the gearcase may be different on model "d" motors.

Not sure what the differences were on the 1989 125's.

I believe your model number is 1251A9C.

Roscoe, how would I go about figuring out these differences, for my 1989 Force outboard and would it be worth the trouble to do so? Understand what your'e saying in your reply, but guess, I'm still curious! Thanks a bunch!
