My trim and tilt was working fine. I had to remove the band assembly fitting for the tilt cylinder and replace it because I broke it messing around with something else. The trim & tilt works but will slowing drift down until something stops it and wont hod steady. I put new trim & tilt fluid in that I bought from boaters world and bled the system of air by filling the pump up then raising and lowering the motor all the way up then all the way down about 5 times with the pump cap off. I made sure i put filled it up on each trip up. The thing is it worked fine with no problem until I changed the band assembley fitting and now it wont hold steady without slowly falling down. Any Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The pilot check valve seals need replacement, or the valve is sticking. Try search.

Do I need to remove the pump from the bracket to remove the check valves?

No, the valves are attached to the allen head screws, you may have to loosen the pump mounting bolts to get the front valve out.

I have the pump with 2 snap rings. Is it the same setup?

Same setup except, remove one snap ring, blow the valve out with the trim pump pressure, replace the seal, install, remove the snap ring other side, blow out with trim pump pressure. You need a good pair of snapring plyiers, and clean the snapring groove before installing the snapring.

Is there any other parts place I can get pilot check valve seals. If I order thru mercury it will take more than a week.

Did this ever work out for you? I'm having a simialr problem but mine has progressed to the point that my trim will only work now if I tap the pump a few times the a wrench. Then it will slowly fall.
