I noticed there is a ton of slop on the shift arm linkage that connects the lower shift rod to the shift rod arm on my Force 50. The schematics shows a #24 bearing and I'm wondering if this is a nylon hat section that rides over the shifter shaft to keep the hole diameter tight or just a washer that controls only side to side movement. There is enough slop in the connection hole that effects return to neutral when I shift lately.
Thanks

Re: 1989 Force 50 Shift Rod Arm Bearing

Well, went ahead and ordered the part 23-97896 Bearing and it was infact a hat section bushing that will take up the slack in the shift rod arm. I attached a photo of it for the curious. So if you happen to have a bit of slop in your shift check to see if this bushing hasn't worn and fallen out.
Thanks
