Hello Mike
There are no major maintanence chores in the boating world. Just major repair bills if you don't do your regular maint. Changing your water pump empeller can be a chalenge the first time. Any time you get a new {to you)rig you should go over it with a fine tooth comb. If it was me, I would buy a manual for that motor and service eveything. You know even if your not mechanical, a manual will help you comunicate with your mechanic.

it seems finding a manual for that motor is a task in itself
no one in my area can seem to find me one
ive checked all the marinas and they all say that motor is becomming obsolete
i havnt heard to many good things about the force motor but so far it hasnt skipped a beat for me
as for the maintanence ive been doing what i can and what people tell me to do
plugs oil lubricating and such
basically just been following the owners manual
but it doesnt really go into much detalil about anything else

Well if you have good cooling now you can wait until there is a more serious problem that requires an OB mechanic and have the impeller changed then, not before. You still have 17 year old electrics that will soon malfunction..
