my motor has always started hard. bog down on starting into forward. lower carb is leaking gas just had it in last year and was supposily cleaned out. now when i tilt the motor up ,then lower it, gearcase oil leaks out of the little holes on the lower flange below the drain plugs . one side has 4 holes the other 5. the two holes away from the prop one on either side leak the oil. these holes are not taped or threaded, i think they are drain holes of some sort. i dont think the gear oil should come out of these places. my clymer manual does not show these weep holes

If it is actually gear lube leaking out, something is wrong, likely the driveshaft seal.

But this oil may be exhaust residue that has accumulated in the leg of the motor.

Decarbing the motor will help it overall, and will blow most of that gunk out of the exhaust in the process.

Click and read: How to decarb.
