This is my first post to the forum. My Dad got the family into boating as a past time.So I Finally got nice a project boat 20 ft four Winns outboard year ago. She is very nice on water power wise. but needs TLC. Needs a good wax to get shine, previous owner did not give to much care. I would like to change that ..... among the several things on my list is getting the shine back to the boat and restore. I used a 3M wax on small area of boat. Learned this was perhaps a no no so recently bought a rotary type of polish. Is a compound suggested first?

Thank you for the article. I bought a paper guide from West marine, fiberglass boat repair from 002-550(West System) i read a section of stringer repair guide lines. the section sates "Making a repair that is significantly stronger/ lighter than the original design can cause hard spots that may distort or crack the hull shell" Since I'm considering my tear in the next two weeks but have like to have all bases covered how is hard spot or hull sag prevented
