Looking into buying a 1989 Four Winns - 180 Horizon, 175 HP 4.3L V6 I/O,18ft. Anyone own a simliar year/model. I have never been around a Four Winns. <br /><br />Looking for some info good/bad/something to look out for. Any thoughts will be helpful!
I recently purchased a 1989 FourWinns Freedom 190 with the same engine package you're looking at. So far I really like it although I don't have anything to compare it to since it is my first boat.<br /><br />Search this Forum for message threads about 'new boat owner' or 'newbie'. You'll find lots of good advice about what to look for.
I also just bought a 95 Four Winns Freedom with the 4.6L V6. It is also my first boat and so far I love it. My only complaint is that the ski locker could have been made longer, my 68" skies are very had to get in and out. I've had it at around 42-43 mph and plenty of power to pull skiers. Friends I know who had and have boats all said the Four Winns is a good boat. Just hate the idea of putting it away soon.
