1989 Galaxie Open Bow

Is anyone familiar with these boats? I picked up this boat for $1,500. It's a 21' Galaxie open bow and it has a Merc 350 Alpha One 5.7 and an Alpha One outdrive. Motor only had 367 hours. The water pump was seized but that was a quick fix and the intermediate shift cable was frozen so I replaced that. The floor in the mid to back of the boat needs to be replaced as well as seating. The hull looks really sleek.

Anyone familiar with the performance?

Well if the floor needs replaced there's a High likelihood that you have bigger issues below. Typically boats rot from the bottom up sooooo, I'd Highly recommend you drill core samples in the Transom, Motor Mounts and Stringers to verify their condition. She's almost 30 years old and from the sound of it she hasn't had supreme care. Any boat that's not well cared for will develop all kinds of issues after this many years. Check out the suggested areas and report back to us on what you find.
