1989 johnson 110hp fuel pump?

i recently purchased a basstracker 1600 tf with a 1989 johnson 110 hp. i changed plugs and had it running but it would die when i throttled up. i cleaned the carbs but now i have leak in my fuel pump. gas goes in but none comes out of the pump to the motor. the motor turns over but will not fire. would the fuel pump leak cause it not to fire. need help please. thanks joel

fuel pump wouldnt cause it not to fire,if its leaking,that needs to be addressed,,if you have no fire,thats another problem,,also if youre still having a problem with your fuel after you fix your leaking fuel pump,make sure you have a good bulb/primer hose,if thats what you use,,,those things can do crazy stuff to your fuel delivery,make your motor run crazy and make your fuel pump work overtime

Are you sure that the fuel hoses were put back onto the right fittings when you re-installed the carbs? Start with the basics... Do you have spark? Is there fuel in the float boals? I have the same motor and I got it cheap because it wasnt running, turned out that the fuel hoses were not hooked up to the right fittings so it's not a difficult mistake to make.
Oh yeah, is it still the VRO pump on the motor?

thanks for the help guys. i put a new bulb on it and fuel lines are fine and hooked up correctly. i bought a manual to make sure of this. when i squeeze the bulb, fuel moves perfectly to the fuel pump but if i remove the hose from the top of the pump no fuel comes out even if i try to crank it still no fuel.
